Women Empowerment

The unequal rights of men and women are one of the barriers for entire development in Bangladesh. Women in rural Bangladesh are in general deprived of fundamental human rights like education, health care etc. They have less or no voice in the decision making process. In some context, they don’t even have the right to family planning. However, the women empowerment program is one of the largest social safety net programs of the Government of Bangladesh that exclusively targets ultra-poor households. This program is expected to make social changes by raising the position of women in society. In general, the program aims to strengthen women so that they can contribute to society to formulate the society prosperous, democratic and gender-fair.
